Bernd brings with him a wealth of experiences and had worked in Japan for over 20 years, leading organizations with over 300 employees within med-tech industries in B2B and med-tech retail enterprises.

Prior to joining HOYA Surgical Optics, he was the President & CEO at GN Hearing Japan K.K. with full P&L responsibility for Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Service, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, HR and Governance, Quality and Homologation, Finance, Procurement, and IT.

Bernd is native of Germany and holds an MBA in Finance and General Management from McGill University, Canada and an MSc from the University of Hertfordshire, UK.
