Leadership Team

Svetlana Bykanova brings passion, positive drive, strong leadership and extensive knowledge in quality, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance to HOYA Surgical Optics. As SVP Global Quality and Compliance at HOYA Surgical Optics, Svetlana is globally responsible to establish, maintain and oversee the implementation of strategies in Quality and Regulatory Compliance across the company, and particular in R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and PMS organizations. 

Svetlana obtained a Master degree in bioengineering in D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia and earned a PhD in drug development at People’s Friendship University after Patrice Lumumba. For over 25 years, Svetlana has been a part of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industry, holding different roles with increased responsibilities in R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing & Quality. Prior to joining HOYA, over the last 14 years Svetlana rose to senior leadership positions at Baxter Healthcare Corporation and led teams in Quality Assurance, Compliance, Supplier Management and Supply Chain in EMEA, APAC and LATAM regions. Among her significant achievement was implementation of MDSAP program Globally (over 30 sites), EU MDR implementation at Baxter sites and successful EU MDR certification.
