John Goltermann Lassen brings a unique set of capabilities and values to HOYA Surgical Optics with extensive international leadership experience and a strong mindset for growth and commercialization of innovations, research and development, and organizational and people development. John has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 25 years leading global organizations across both emerging and mature markets in Asia, Europe and US as well as in health care settings operating both B2B and B2C. Assuming the role as CEO of HOYA Surgical Optics in 2014, John has led HOYA Surgical Optics to significant growth through commercial execution, development of a strong product pipeline and significant capacity expansion.

Prior to joining Hoya Surgical Optics, John was responsible for Global Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific during his 14 years with GN ReSound. Prior to joining GN ReSound, John worked 11 years at Maersk Medical, now part of ConvaTec. John holds a graduate diploma from Copenhagen Business School and has completed further studies at INSEAD, France and IMD, Switzerland.
