About the role

Reports to: Directly to Divisional CEO and Functionally to Divisional CFO

Function: Global Internal Audit

Work Location/Site: GHQ Singapore


Role Overview

This position is responsible for leading internal auditing (IA) in HOYA Surgical Optics. Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization's operations. It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.


Duties and Responsibilities

In line with “International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IPPF)”, “HOYA Group Internal Audit Charter” and “HOYA Group Internal Audit Standards”, the Global Internal Auditor should proceed audit work and add value to operations so that HSO can accomplish its business objectives.

1)    Using risk-based audit approach, conduct in-depth auditing on identified key risk area(s) at all HSO offices 
•    Conduct periodical risk survey 
•    Establish audit plan(budget/long/mid/annual) taking reference from the result of risk survey
•    Proceed auditing and coping with changes in the business environment

2)    Evaluate effectiveness of internal controls 
•    Ensure controls effectiveness in business processes
•    Perform consulting activity to improve the identified weaknesses in internal controls

3)    Conduct audits collaboratively with internal/local resources considering any restrictions
•    Organize IA team in each audit by assigning the best persons who can execute auditing effectively
•    Lead IA team so that the team can add value to HSO operations

4)    Ensure satisfactory completion of improvement plans of past audits 
•    Process follow-up monitoring for improvement actions conducted by auditee


Requirements

Experience
•    A minimum of 10 years’ experience in auditing or internal control (SOX/J-SOX), preferably in a managerial role 
•    Business & industry-specific experiences and knowledge


Skills/Accreditations

     2) Corporate governance 
     3) Organizational objectives 
     4) Operational efficiency and effectiveness 
     5) Compliance with laws and policies 
     6) Accurate financial statements
•    Excellent Communication skills 
•    Accounting skills 
•    Data mining & analytics, IT


Academic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; CIA qualified person or person with equivalent knowledge preferred


Travel requirements

International travel for at least 6 weeks per year as the role requires audit activities to be performed at all HSO commercial and manufacturing sites.
